Open enrollment means that you can start class anytime after the start date because we tailor our small classes to our students individual needs whenever possible.

So its never too late! Most courses in our Academic program have open enrollment-whether its a High School Credential, Academics, or College Transitional Support that you are looking for - check us out!

Our (Academic) Adult Basic Education courses are FREE - Now that is a deal!

NEW OPTICIANS Certificate Training Program

Optician Certificate Program Info Session

Your instructor, Adam McGee, ABOC,  will be there to answer all your questions about this field as well as inform you about our certificate program. Its a great way to get started, meet your teacher and classmates. We welcome you! Registration is required.

Optician Certificate Program 

Prepare to seamlessly step into a professional setting and begin or enhance your career as a professional optician. Topics covered are physiology of the eye, understanding eyeglass prescriptions, different lens materials and types, lens features, frame types, dispensing and repair basics. Prepare to take the American Board of Opticianary Exam, an internationally recognized certification for opticians. Take the best first step new opticians can take to jump-start their career. Opticians who already have experience will also benefit by gaining a deeper understanding of their profession. A general knowledge of math basics and principles is strongly recommended. Required text: The Optician Training Manual by David S McCleary, OD (ISBN 0615193811) available at amazon.com, approx. $50. Clinical classes will be held at Associated Eye Care, 272 Cottage St., Sanford. No class April 16th.
