Certified Residential Medication Aide

This course provides standardized training for professionals working in state-certified residential care homes. State of Maine regulations, standard residential facility policies and basic anatomy and physiology are covered. Discuss common medications, their many uses, common side effects, and client response to side effects. Learn safe administration procedures, practice taking vital signs, transcribing physician orders, and documenting procedures on the Medication Administration Record in accordance with Maine’s regulations governing residential facilities. Become an Ophthalmic Assistant

Prepare for an entry-level position in ophthalmology, one of the fastest growing healthcare segments. Through classroom lecture and labs, this program includes: anatomy and physiology of the eye, general principles of pharmacology, prescriptions, visual acuity, basic tonometry and glaucoma. Review ocular dressing procedures, equipment maintenance, instruments and other areas. Students who complete this program have the opportunity to gain certified ophthalmic assistant certification, which is the core level of certification from the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology.
