All materials listed below are required unless otherwise noted. 

Career Advancement

  • Prerequisite: CASAS testing, with a score of 239 or better, is required to complete enrollment. No exceptions. Appointments available at our Saco Learning Center; please call 202-3846 to set up.
  • A 1.5-inch, 3-ring binder.
  • $125-$150 fee for medication pass payable to the instructor at your scheduled test

Creative Arts

  • Sharp fabric scissors

  • Heavy-duty thread (quilting, upholstery, or button threads are best).

  • If you have cotton twill rug binding you want to use, bring it. If not, there will be different materials available for purchase.

  • A small plastic cereal bowl
  • A size 5 crochet hook

  • At least 3 oz. each of four different colored worsted acrylic yarns (avoid dark colors; no black or navy).

  • 1 small tube each of:
    • cadmium yellow (light)
    • cobalt blue
    • alizarin crimson
  • Any colors you already have
  • 1 paint palette (Russel says folding ones are ideal!)
  • 1 round #10 watercolor brush
  • 1 inch wide flat brush
  • 1 drawing pencil #2H
  • 1 eraser
  • 1 lightweight board or piece of cardboard
  • 2 sheets of Arches watercolor paper, 140 lb. cold press, 22×30″ Note: Please purchase Arches, as the quality of watercolor paper is essential for handling the techniques you will be taught in class
  • A5.5- X 8.5-inch spiral multimedia sketchbook,

  • Several gel or ballpoint pens with fine or medium points
  • A container to hold your materials when traveling to different sites.
  • Optional: Watercolor pencil set (instructor recommends Pentel Arts Aquash water brushes available on Amazon – materials approx. $35).
